How to Resize Multiple Images at Once (Bulk Image Resizer)

By Prestofiles Team · · 2 min read

Resizing photos one by one takes hours. Here is how to resize a whole folder of images in a few clicks, for free.

Shop owners, bloggers and students often have 20 or 50 photos that all need the same size. Doing it one picture at a time is slow. A bulk resizer does the whole set in one go.

When bulk resizing helps

  • Product photos for an online shop that must all have the same width.
  • Blog pictures that are too big and make the page slow.
  • Event or wedding photos you want to share over WhatsApp or email.
  • Scanned pages or ID pictures that must be the same size.

Steps

  1. Open Resize Image.
  2. Select all your pictures together, or add more after the first batch.
  3. Choose one size in pixels, or one percentage for every picture.
  4. Press resize and download each result.

If you picked a wrong file, remove it with the x button and add the correct one. You do not need to start again.

Tips for a clean result

  • Use percentage when your pictures have different shapes. Each one keeps its own proportions.
  • Use pixels when every picture must have the same width, for example 1200 px for a blog.
  • Keep your originals in a separate folder, so you can always resize again.

What next?

After resizing, you may also want to compress the images so they load faster, or convert them to another format. For form uploads with a strict limit, try compress to 100KB.
