About Resume Size Reducer

Resume Size Reducer shrinks your CV so it fits job portal and email limits. It uses the same compression as the PDF compressor with a small default target of 200 KB.

It tries a gentle level first and moves to stronger levels only if the file is still above your target.

Tips to keep a resume small

Export your CV from Word or Google Docs as a PDF instead of scanning a printout. Text PDFs are usually small. Avoid large photos and background images. If you must use a photo, make it small first with the image compressor.

Frequently asked questions

What is a resume size reducer?

It is a tool that makes your resume or CV PDF smaller so it fits the upload limit of job portals and email.

What size do job portals usually allow?

Many allow between 100 KB and 2 MB. Check the exact limit on the portal you use, and type it in the Target size box.

Will my CV still look good?

Yes, it stays readable at normal zoom. To reach a small size each page becomes an image, so text in the new file cannot be selected or searched. Keep your original for that.

Can I reduce my resume to under 100 KB?

Usually yes for one or two pages. Type 100 as the target size. Longer or colour heavy CVs may need more compression.

Is my resume uploaded anywhere?

No. It is processed in your browser, so your personal details stay on your device.

Is this tool free?

Resume Size Reducer is free to use. There is no signup and no watermark.

Are my files safe?

Everything runs inside your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never uploaded.
