Forms often reject photos above 200KB. Here is the quickest way to get under the limit without ruining the picture.
Many job, exam and admission forms say "upload an image up to 200KB". A normal phone photo is 3 to 8MB, so it will be rejected. The good news is that you can make it much smaller in a minute.
The photo is processed in your browser, so it is not uploaded anywhere.
JPG stores a picture with a quality setting. A lower setting makes a smaller file but adds blur and blocks. The tool tries many settings and keeps the highest quality that still fits under 200KB. If that is not enough, it also makes the picture a little smaller in pixels, because fewer pixels need fewer bytes.
Your form may ask for a different limit. We also have pages for 100KB, 50KB, 20KB and 500KB. Remember that 1MB is 1024KB.
